While trying to take database backup of Sage 300 ERP (earlier known as Sage Accpac ERP), through Accpac Data dump feature, Users may come across an error “Error 13 opening record file”.
When this error occurs, it refers that error occurred while opening record file and this is due to lengthy folder name or Path assigned to the backup folder, which is set in the directory path for taking the backups.
For Example, Say while taking backup we named folder as “Before test entries sample company and changes in optional fields_28th nov”, thus below error got pop-up.
Instead of putting a lengthy name to a folder, Users should try to have short name instead, so the overall path becomes compact.
By using compact yet meaningful names for Backup Folder and keeping it at a location (i.e. backup should be taken directly in a folder created with a short path and not in subfolders), which would not add to the total length of path significantly, thus avoiding the error while performing backups.
