Displaying Relationship in Opportunity

By | April 1, 2010
Are you searching for a relationship at opportunity level here is the solution for you.
Under a company there are number of Persons and a CRM user cannot see the other person’s opportunity. Ideally each user has to see a person’s opportunities and corresponding opportunities of the persons who is under him. To achieve this you have to maintain the relationship under person entity in such a hierarchy i.e. the person at the top most position who can see all the opportunities assigned to him and the opportunities of the person who are under him or working under him. For e.g. there are 3 employee named as Ani, Mani, Sunny and Ani is MD of the company, Mani is manager, Sunny is an employee. Secondly you will have a new tab in SageCRM known as Relationship Opportunity which will display the opportunity in a hierarchy. Here is goes
Now the relationship structure would be as follows:
For Ani

For Mani

For Sunny

To summarize the above images, Ani should see his opportunities and also opportunities of Mani and Sunny. Mani should his opportunities and Sunny’s opportunities but not Ani’s. Similarly Sunny can see only his opportunities not that of Mani and Ani’s.

Sunny has opportunities “ABC”, “DEF”, and “XYZ” as his opportunities. Mani has opportunity “MNO” under him. Ani has opportunity “HIJ” under her.
When they view Sunny, and anyone who happens to be under him, they would like to see his opportunities and anyone’s opportunities that are under him. The same applies to Mani and Ani.
So, if they view a “relationship opportunity” screen under sunny, they would see:
Opportunity – Owner
ABC – Sunny
DEF – Sunny
XYZ – Sunny

If they view the relationship opportunity screen under Mani, they would see:
Opportunity Owner
ABC – Sunny
DEF – Sunny
XYZ – Sunny
MNO – Mani

And if they viewed the opportunity relationship screen under Ani they would see:
Opportunity – Owner
ABC – Sunny
DEF – Sunny
XYZ – Sunny
MNO – Mani
HIJ – Ani
