Instead of getting a clear, readable line like “Every week on Thursday, Wednesday, Monday,”<\/em> you end up looking at database fields like UsrServiceDaysMask and UsrRecurrenceIntervalWeeks spitting out raw integers like 26<\/strong> or 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That happens because Acumatica packs multi-select values into a single integer called a bitmask<\/strong>. The real headache, though? Acumatica\u2019s Report Designer doesn’t support built-in bitwise operators (like &) or modulo functions (%). So, if you want to turn those cryptic numbers into plain text for end users, you have to get a little creative with math right inside the expression editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s the basic idea. Each day of the week has a special number, based on powers of two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Sunday is 20<\/sup> = 1,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday is 21<\/sup> = 2,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday is 22<\/sup> = 4,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday is 23<\/sup> = 8,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday is 24<\/sup>= 16,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why powers of two? Well, it lets Acumatica combine multiple days simply by adding the numbers together. For example, if a task happens on Monday and Wednesday, the number stored is 2 + 8 = 10. Suddenly, one number can represent multiple days neat, right?
Now, let\u2019s see how to read that number. Suppose the Recurrence Field has the value 13. How do we know which days it represents? We start with the biggest day value that fits into 13. Thursday is 8. Subtract it from 13, and we get 5 so Thursday is included. Next is Wednesday, which is 4. 5 – 4 leaves 1, so Wednesday is selected. Tuesday is 2 too big, so we skip it. Monday is 1, and 1 – 1 leaves 0, so Monday is selected. Sunday is 1, but there\u2019s nothing left, so we skip it. And just like that, 13 turns into Monday, Wednesday, Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since standard bitwise operators aren’t available in Report Designer, we have to isolate each day manually. We do this by dividing our stored value by the day’s bit weight, applying Floor(), and checking the remainder:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
