When onboarding new team members into Creatio CRM, everything seems smooth until you log in with the newly created account and notice something unusual the All-Apps<\/strong> view is blank, and no workplace is visible. This is one of the most commonly faced issues among Creatio administrators, especially when configuring fresh user profiles or setting up access control for the first time. The behaviour might look alarming, but the cause is quite simple: the user is not yet connected to a workplace, role, or doesn\u2019t have permissions assigned for system sections.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Creatio, workplaces are what organize the available sections for users, such as Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Activities, and more. Each workplace is linked to specific roles or user groups<\/strong>, and only those included in it can view the corresponding applications. If a new user is created without inheriting the correct workplace or permissions, the system displays nothing under All Apps<\/strong>, making it feel like the CRM is empty but it\u2019s not!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are four primary reasons why new users don\u2019t see workplaces:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Missing role assignment<\/strong> \u2014 the user belongs to no organizational or functional role.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Workplace access not granted<\/strong> \u2014 the assigned role is not included in any workplace user group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. No sections linked to the workplace<\/strong> or permissions are restricted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. License\/activation not completed<\/strong>, meaning access rights don\u2019t initialize properly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Follow below steps to check and fix the workplace for user:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 1<\/strong> – Check the user account setup<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ensure the user is active, linked to a Contact, and has a valid license. Without activation, Creatio cannot load UI permissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 2<\/strong> – Assign the user to proper roles<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Navigate to System Designer \u2192 System Users<\/strong>, open the desired user record, and go to the Roles<\/strong> tab. Assign the relevant Organizational<\/strong> and Functional Roles<\/strong> as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For example, in this blog, I\u2019ve added “Studio”<\/strong> under Functional Roles<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 3<\/strong> – Grant access to a workplace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Go to System Designer \u2192 Workplace Setup<\/strong> and select the workplace (for example, Customer 360<\/strong>).
    Under User Groups<\/strong>, add the user or their role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In this example, I added the same role that was already assigned under the user\u2019s Functional Roles<\/strong>, which is Studio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 4 – Verify sections inside the workplace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Make sure the workplace includes modules such as Accounts, Contacts<\/strong>, and others as needed. If the list is empty, add the required sections using the + (Add)<\/strong> button under Sections<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note: To apply the changes, the user needs to log out and then log in again.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once the configuration is complete, the user will be able to view the assigned sections in the workplace. Refer to the screenshot below for clarity based on the example above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Final Thoughts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This isn\u2019t really an error, it\u2019s just a setup step that\u2019s missing. Creatio works on a role-based access model, so if a user isn\u2019t linked to a workplace, the system hides the application modules for security reasons. Once the correct roles and workplace are assigned, everything appears instantly under All Apps<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    By following these steps, you\u2019ll make user onboarding easier and keep your Creatio CRM environment organized, secure, and ready to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
