In the new version of Sage 300, we have been introduced to the web screens. Sage 300 ERP will now be called as Sage 300c ERP which now will be used on cloud that will make it easier to access from the web. As this is a newly introduced concept, there are chances that we might face errors during the configuration stage. In this blog we will check how to troubleshoot the most common error that may occur during the configuration of the Web UIs.<\/p>\n

Mostly after installation of the Web Screens, it is necessary to configure the ‘PORTAL’ in the database setup screen. But when user tries to configure the PORTAL in the database setup they might come across the error : \u201cError. Failed to create landlord database tables<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

Please refer the below screen shot.
\n\"SageBelow are few points that can be followed to overcome the error:<\/p>\n

1. Verify \u201cPORTAL\u201d Database ID on SQL server:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before proceeding to verify other points, please make sure you have created the PORTAL database. This PORTAL database later needs to be specified in the database setup during the configuration of the Web UIs. Hence, it is the basic step to look out for this error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0<\/strong>2. Check whether the SQL services are running on the server:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once you have created the \u201cPORTAL\u201d database on SQL server, and still if you are facing the same error, ensure if the SQL services are in running status.<\/p>\n

To do this, you can follow below steps:
\na. Get access to your database server either by logging into to console or initiating a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session to the server.<\/p>\n

b. To check the services, enter \u2018services.msc\u2019 in RUN command and click on enter to open the Services Management as shown below :<\/p>\n

\"Error<\/p>\n

The highlighted service should indicate that their status is \u2018Running\u2019 and Startup Type is set to \u2018Automatic\u2019.<\/p>\n

c. You can start\/re-start this service by right clicking on the SQL Server service and choosing \u2018Start\u2019 or \u2018Restart\u2019 as highlighted below.<\/p>\n

If the SQL Server service is not shown as \u2018Running\u2019 you have more likely found the root of your problem! But still you can look out for below option if the error persists.<\/p>\n

3. Verify whether the Port number for SQL server database engine is defined:<\/strong><\/p>\n

To assign a TCP\/IP port number to the SQL Server Database Engine.<\/p>\n

a. In SQL Server Configuration Manager, in the console pane, expand\u00a0SQL Server Network Configuration, expand\u00a0Protocols for <instance name>, and then double-click\u00a0TCP\/IP.<\/p>\n

In the\u00a0TCP\/IP Properties\u00a0dialog box, on the\u00a0IP Addresses\u00a0tab, several IP addresses appear in the format\u00a0IP1,\u00a0IP2, up to\u00a0IPAll.<\/p>\n

\"TCP<\/p>\n

b. In the\u00a0IPn\u00a0Properties\u00a0area box, in the\u00a0TCP Port\u00a0box, type the port number you want this IP address to listen on, and then click\u00a0OK.<\/p>\n

c. Restart the SQL Server and SQL browser services to take the effect.<\/p>\n

Once you are done with the above steps try to reconfigure the Web UIs and it should connect without any problem.<\/p>\n
