Sage 300 has introduced new feature called Global Search with its latest release of Sage 300 ERP 2019. This feature helps the user to quickly search for the data (transactions) from company database.<\/p>\n

Global Search is available only if it is selected during the installation of Sage 300 ERP 2019. The files related to the feature are available under GS<\/strong> directory at Sage 300 installation path.<\/p>\n

New Stuff:<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>Alternate solution to license issue of multicurrency database in Sage 300 ERP<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cGlobal Search\u201d option is available in \u201cHelp\u201d section of the Home tab. It is located under \u201cLive Chat\u201d option on Sage 300 2019 Desktop.<\/p>\n

Click on \u201cGlobal Search\u201d to open the screen.<\/p>\n

\"Order<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cRefine Search By\u201d section has a tree like structure to specify the area for searching the content from the database entered in the search box.<\/p>\n

For instance, we have selected the \u201cOrder Entry\u201d Transaction as our search area and searching for content \u201c1200\u201d.<\/p>\n

Click on the magnifying glass icon to begin the search operation.<\/p>\n

Search results will be displayed to the right section of \u201cRefine Search By\u201d with the navigation path to the screen and related summary information.<\/p>\n

Sage 300 directly allows the user to open the screen by clicking on the title link of each search result (similar to drill down functionality).<\/p>\n

\"Order<\/a><\/p>\n

Below is another example where we have changed the \u201cRefine Search By\u201d selections but searching for the same content. User has an ability to select either specific or all the options as per the requirement.<\/p>\n

In the above example we have only results from \u201cOrder Entry\u201d Transaction but in below example we can clearly see that results are displayed from the multiple areas of Sage 300. Drill down functionality is available for all the search results irrespective of the selection criteria for refining.<\/p>\n

So, Global Search is very helpful when we have some content that we need to find and doesn’t have knowledge about the presence of the same Sage 300 ERP, it will list all the areas as per the selection and provide direct drill down feature to open the same.<\/p>\n
