As Sage 300 development partner we have done many customizations for enhancing process flow or made changes to fit the client\u2019s requirement variance with standard sage 300 flow. Recently we have done customization for providing item specific notes on required transactions screen for one of our customers. In this blog we are going to discuss this as generalize idea that can be implemented to use this feature on transactions screen as per end user requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Stuff:\u00a0<\/strong>Localized resources aren\u2019t available<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have developed an additional screen for maintaining item specific notes (textual). This screen have lookup for I\/C items, user can select specific item and can add required notes for that item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be maintained in Sage 300 specific views so that it can be accessible on reports as well without extra database login credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The screen looks as in below screenshot :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Item\u2019s notes screen can be made available from I\/C Items screen as well or we can provide it as separate master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once we stored this related information for items, we can produce this as an instructions on OE Order entry screen whenever that item is selected on OE detail lines. Similarly we can do this on any screen where I\/C items are referred and item specific notes can be displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The notes produced from the master can be modified and order detail lines specific instructions can be set. The original notes for I\/C items will remain unchanged until they are modified from master screen itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes: As you can see in the screenshot above there is one more button is provided which is useful for copy-pasting long text as an item specific notes and these copied text then distributed over the 80 characters notes and will be stored in database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
