In Sage 300 ERP, Order Entry Screen is used to place orders for different locations against customers. Basically, Locations defined on Order Entry screen for Header field flows directly to detail level Location. But sometimes Items may not be available for few Locations or Users are not supposed to pick items from such locations. In such case, user needs to have a validation that will notify to check and change detail locations for such items.

To have this validation while placing an Order, we have customized the Order Entry Screen in order to keep track of these locations. We have customized Order Entry screen in such a way that it will display Warning message for mismatched locations. These combination for mismatched location is maintained in the Optional field named ‘REQLOC”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configuration of Optional Field<\/strong>:
1. New Optional field will be created where Value would be the combination of be the header level location field and detail level location from order entry screen separated by \u201c|\u201d. (Header location | Detail location)
Optional field : “REQLOC”
Header Location : 3
Detail Line Location : 2, 3, 4

2. In this optional field user will have to enter the combination of Locations for which warning message should not be displayed.
Combination : 3|2
                              3|3
                              3|4

3. Combination’s would be checked for every Detail level Item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking below Eg,. Order Entry is created with Header Location \u201c3\u201d and different detail line location for different Items. Here as seen in the above optional field, combinations of Location are 3|2, 3|3 and 3|4 (Header Location | Detail Location). In this case, for detail level location \u201c1\u201d combination is not present. Hence, the warning message will be displayed for this Header | Detail combination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The warning message \u201cPlease check Log file for the Location Mismatch Warning.\u201d will be displayed as below and log file will be generated in OExxA folder displaying details of the order line whose combinations are not present in the Optional Field \u201cREQLOC\u201d. The Order Entry will get posted after user clicks on OK button for the warning message.
