As Sage 300 provides an SDK using which a developer can customize an existing OCX screen. This customize screen needs to be upgraded or downgraded as per the client requirement and environment they might ne using.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this blog we will discuss about a solution for the error message while opening the customized screen (OCX) i.e. \u201cError code:5 Invalid procedure call or argument\u201d. <\/strong>Sometimes when any standard Sage 300 ERP screen (OCX) is customized by any third-party developers, user might face the issues while opening the customized screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this blog we will take an example of a customized OE order Entry Screen and when user tries to open the customized screen the following error is shown. Refer the below screenshot for the error:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kindly refer to example scenario below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this case, we have done a customization in a higher version and for that version everything works properly, but as per client requirement we need to downgrade the same to the lower version. When we have downgraded the source i.e. views and screens to lower version and try to open an OE screen, we came across this scenario, and got this error due to which we are unable to open the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The issue was strange as it was working for higher version and not working in the lower version. We thought of it might be a resolution issue as we need to resize screen at times of upgrade\/ downgrade. Also need to set resizing for additional controls like labels\/buttons\/ text fields added as per customization requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While checking the same concern we fond that the few buttons which are additionally present in higher version as a standard functionality are not present and supported in lower version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see, in the screenshot above, From Sage 300 2022, PU1 there is are additional features to have Set Ship date and Set Location buttons available as a part of standard functionality. This feature is not available in v2021 and while downgrading the code for resizing these buttons was causing issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So please make sure, especially while downgrading source code, we need to check for references to the additional supportive functionality to be removed as that will definitely cause the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
