The “Database is locked by another task” error usually occurs when you try to access or modify configuration settings while the database is in use or locked by another process. This safeguard is intended to prevent conflicts and protect against potential data corruption caused by simultaneous changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This issue frequently occurs when the Database Setup screen is open on any server or workstation within your network. Sage 300’s system locks the database to allow only one user to make changes at a time. This prevents multiple users from accessing the Database Setup screens simultaneously, thereby maintaining data integrity and system stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To fix the “Database is locked by another task” error, make sure the Database Setup screen is closed on all systems where it might be open. Just closing this screen on the relevant server or workstation should solve the problem. After closing all Database Setup screens, you should be able to log back in and resume your tasks without encountering the error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
