Sage 300 ERP System provides security features where assigning a user to a security group allows the user to perform the tasks defined for the particular group. These groups can have different access rights.<\/p>\n

For example, if a user has access right to only Account Payable Module in Sage 300 ERP, then he cannot access Account Receivable or any other module. The impact of this feature has a great role in an ERP system for the security purpose.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s understand with the example, how User Roles and Security Application can be applied in Sage 300 ERP.<\/p>\n

At first, Admin User in Sage 300 ERP system has to create different users and set password through Administrative Services Users function.<\/p>\n

First, we will create User \u201cJohn\u201d from the Administrative Services Users screen in Sage 300 ERP. (Refer below screenshot)<\/p>\n

    1. After creating the User, we will create Group ID \u2013 APUSER and will grant security access of AP Module transactions\/screens.<\/li>\n
    2. Later Administrator can create or assign created security groups to particular users depending on their role and function.<\/li>\n
    3. Users assigned with that particular Group ID (APUSER) are authorized to use only those particular modules, which have been assigned to them. (Refer below screenshot)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      4. We will map the Group ID to the user \u201cJOHN\u201d, thus will grant several access rights of AP Module through Group ID APUSER.<\/p>\n

      1. Now we will login Sage 300 with the user \u201cJohn\u201d (refer below screenshot)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Note:-<\/em><\/strong>If you are prompted for a Password while login to Sage 300 ERP, it means application security option in Database Setup has been checked. (Refer below screenshot)<\/em><\/p>\n

        After successful login to Sage 300 ERP, user \u201cJohn\u201d will be able to see only Account payable module. (as per permission provided)<\/span><\/p>\n
