In Sage 300 ERP, clients need to execute a specific.\u00a0EXE file on a daily basis for a specific time. Users can receive notifications for setting up reminders, however, they cannot run the EXE file automatically using Scheduling >> Reminder List. This makes it a manual and tedious task to carry out every day. Hence, User needs to run the Task Scheduler from Windows >> Control Panel.<\/p>\n

*For example, users may want to create \u201cPrice List Code\u201d for each item in the database on a regular basis by using EXE file.<\/p>\n

Steps to run EXE using Windows Scheduler.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Navigate to Start >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Task Scheduler<\/li>\n
  2. Click on Task Scheduler >> Create Task option<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Create Task\u2019 UI will open.\u00a0 In General Tab, Enter the Task Name.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. In case you want the scheduler to run in case the user is logged off, then select the checkbox (Run whether the user is logged on or not).<\/li>\n
      2. Then navigate to Action tab and select New.<\/li>\n
      3. You will see the \u2018New Action\u2019 UI.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. In \u2018Program\/Script\u2019, select \u2018EXE\u2019 file, for which you want to execute using the Browse button.<\/li>\n
        2. In \u2018Add arguments (optional)\u2019 field, enter Sage 300 User Id, Password, and Company Name.\u00a0 Separate these fields by the comma (ADMIN, ADMIN, SAMINC)<\/li>\n
        3. Click on OK >> \u2018New Action\u2019 UI will get closed.<\/li>\n
        4. Now, navigate to Triggers Tab >> New >> \u2018New Trigger\u2019; a UI will get opened.<\/li>\n
        5. Add a scheduler to run the EXE.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. Click on OK >> New Trigger UI will get closed.<\/li>\n
          2. Now click on OK button in \u2018Create Task\u2019 UI.<\/li>\n
          3. A pop up will get opened asking for System User Id and Password. Enter details and click on OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            This way, the EXE file will run on a daily basis as set in windows scheduler. Thus making it easier for the users to automate their Sage 300 ERP process, reducing the time consumed to run EXE File on a regular basis.<\/p>\n
