In this blog, we will discuss about one of our new developments i.e. Data Integration utility [DIU]<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Data Integration here simply means combining data from several disparate sources, which are stored using various technologies and provide a unified view of the data. DIU<\/b> reads data from two different files from FTP and helps in creating Sales Order Entry in Sage 300 ERP.<\/p>\n

Files are normally generated from an external source. Say in a multi user environment, where users at front end use some web application and need data sharing and integration with Sage 300 ERP.<\/p>\n

How DIU works:<\/b>
Here users can generate data in Excel or CSV format<\/b> from web portal and then can keep files on an ftp path. Greytrix Data Integration Utility program will then read the data files from FTP<\/b> and load it onto a local path on Server which will be used for creating order entry in Sage 300 ERP.<\/p>\n

The custom routine will read files in a specific date format in order to carry out integration on daily basis. Once, files are loaded locally they can be used in DIU<\/b> program to import.<\/p>\n

Both, CSV files (generated from web portal) contain different information required for creating Order Entry like (Customer No, Item No, Quantity required, Optional field data etc.)\u00a0 DIU<\/b> Integration routine<\/b> will read both the files, Validate the data present in file, integrate them and create Sales orders efficiently in OE Module.<\/p>\n

New Stuff:<\/strong>\u00a0POS Sage 300 ERP Integration<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

In case files contain any incorrect data or there is duplication of data such as transaction number, some optional fields or any required value that are not available then routine will provide an error log with clear information about the error<\/b>. This way, you do not need to run the routine manually on daily basis; you can simply add the program to window scheduler and assign a specific time and assign a user to audit the error log on regular basis so that program will get the corrected data from assigned path and will create the transaction in sage 300 ERP.<\/p>\n

Suppose, users add this routine to window scheduler to run daily at 9pm; then, Data Integration Utility program will read the files from FTP server daily at 9 pm , load these files on to a local drive and will then create sales order entries as desired.<\/p>\n

Data integration becomes increasingly important in cases of merging systems of two companies or consolidating applications within one company to provide a unified view of the company’s data assets.<\/p>\n
