While importing data into Sage 300 ERP using excel sheet file format you might encounter an error saying \u201cTable\/Records does not exist. Please specify an existing table.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 In this blog we will discover why this error occurs and steps to correct this error.
\nLet\u2019s take an example of importing customer records using excel file format.<\/p>\n

As a first step you have prepare the excel file in a format as required by customer import template.\u00a0\u00a0 This file consists of all the desired customer records which you want to import.<\/p>\n

You will further notice that the Status is Import not ready<\/strong>
\nThe possible cause of the error is due to worksheet name.<\/p>\n

Import program reads each worksheet in excel file as Table. It expects the table name to be same as displayed.
\nEven if you change the sheet name you will not be able to surpass this issue.<\/p>\n

In order to rectify this error you will have to verify the table names in the excel workbook using Name Manager dialog box.
\nPlease note; here we have used Microsoft EXCEL v2010.<\/p>\n

1. Open the customer import file. Under Formulas<\/strong> menu select Name Manager<\/strong> function.\"4\"<\/a><\/p>\n

2. A new window Name Manager<\/strong> will appear; Select Edit<\/strong>.\"5\"<\/a>3. A new window Edit Names<\/strong> will appear. In the Name field change the Name as required by the\u00a0Import program.<\/p>\n

After making the corrections to names; you will be able to overcome this issue.<\/p>\n
