{"id":8537,"date":"2014-08-28T09:39:37","date_gmt":"2014-08-28T09:39:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/?p=8537"},"modified":"2019-11-12T09:20:29","modified_gmt":"2019-11-12T09:20:29","slug":"how-to-restrict-user-from-using-undefined-uom-in-inventory-control","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/2014\/08\/28\/how-to-restrict-user-from-using-undefined-uom-in-inventory-control\/","title":{"rendered":"How to restrict user from using undefined UOM in inventory Control"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In our previous blog post we discussed about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/2012\/02\/27\/processing-options-in-sage-300-inventory-control\/\">Processing options in Sage 300 Inventory control<\/a>. &nbsp;Today in this blog we will discuss about feature how to restrict the use of undefined UOM in inventory control.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong><em>New Stuff:<\/em>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/2014\/08\/21\/migrate-sales-person-from-sage-50-us-to-sage-300-erp\/\">Migrate Sales Person from Sage 50 (US) to Sage 300 ERP<\/a><br \/>\nSage 300 Inventory Control module lets you define all of the buying, stocking, and selling Units of Measure that you require for inventory items using the IC Units screen and also set up default conversion factors between each of the units.<br \/>\nIf you want to restrict user from using only those UOM\u2019s which have being defined, you can set the option <strong>\u201cOnly Use Defined UOM\u201d<\/strong> in Inventory Control -&gt; I\/C -&gt; Setup -&gt;I\/C -&gt; Options&nbsp;-&gt;&nbsp;Processing tab.<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/121.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8538\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/121.jpg\" alt=\"12\" width=\"601\" height=\"542\"><\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nWith this option \u201c<strong>Only Use Defined UOM\u201d<\/strong>, you can only use inventory units of measure that you have already defined in the Units setup screen. If you try to set the undefined UOM for IC Item master, this will restrict user from using undefined UOM. Refer the below screen shot.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/131.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8539 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/131.jpg\" alt=\"13\" width=\"753\" height=\"573\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Note<\/strong>: This option only affects new inventory items or new units of measure that you add to existing items.
