Many times, companies purchase materials or sell their product in fractional Quantities. So, the user needs to enter item Quantity as a fractional value rather than an integer value.
\nSome companies do not use IC module. In such a case if you want to use fractional Quantity you can do this through PO options.
\nThis option is available in Purchase Orders only if you do not use Inventory Control.
\nNavigate to Purchase Orders >> P\/O Setup >> Options Form.

\nIn this blog post, we will discuss about \u2018Allow Fractional Quantities\u2019. In P\/O Option setting, there is a check box \u2018Allow Fractional Quantities\u2019 under the \u2018Processing\u2019 tab [Refer screenshot below].

\nIf the check box is checked it will allow the user to create the transactions that use fractional quantities (user can use up to 4 decimal places).
\nIn below screen shot you can it allows you to enter quantity ordered as fractional.
\n\"03\"<\/a>
\nIf the check box is un-checked, it won\u2019t allow users to enter the fractional quantities. If user wants to simplify the transaction entry he\/she can uncheck the option \u201cAllow Fractional Quantities\u201d [Refer Below screen shot].
\n\"04\"<\/a>
\nFractional quantities are useful if your inventory includes homogeneous items. (Homogeneous items are those with identical elements which can be broken down into multiple, smaller units, such as oil or grain.)
\nOnce the user checks this option, they can\u2019t change it in future for that Company in Sage 300 .i.e. it is disabled for that company.
\nAll integer values will display as decimal values by default.
