The custom entity was added into Sage CRM using Sage CRM Main entity component wizard. This is the component wizard that will help you to add new custom entities into the system. It will build the tables and the supporting Meta data and ASP pages.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>New Stuff:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2016\/03\/09\/set-info-message-color-based-on-opportunity-stage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Set Info Message Color Based On Opportunity Stage<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There is also an option to enable Workflow for the entities which are being created using the above component wizard. All we need to do is tick the Workflow checkbox option upon creating an entity. Refer below screenshot.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Component-Manager.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12262\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Component-Manager-1024x629.jpg\" alt=\"Component Manager\" width=\"595\" height=\"365\" \/><\/a>Now, what if you have forgotten to check this Workflow option or may be later you have the requirement to enable and use Workflow functionality for that custom entity. Can we enable Workflow functionality for that Custom entity?<br \/>\nYes, we can enable Workflow processing for that custom entity. Let\u2019s consider the custom entity named as Project. Now to achieve the requirement we need to follow below steps.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Create new Integer type field in Project entity named &#8220;<strong>proj_workflowid<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Administration | Advanced Customization\u00a0 | Tables and Databases<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Project<\/strong> table from the available tables.<\/li>\n<li>Under Workflow Id Field, fill &#8220;Workflow Id Field&#8221; by column name &#8220;<strong>proj_workflowid<\/strong> &#8220;.<\/li>\n<li>Click on Save. Refer below screenshot.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Tabel-Details1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12266\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Tabel-Details1-1024x183.jpg\" alt=\"Tabel Details\" width=\"595\" height=\"106\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>In case if entity has been created using Tables and Databases option and belong to secondary entity, we need to ensure target entity should have filed named \u201cXXXX_SecTerr&#8221;. Now in above case considering Project as entity name, the field name that needs to be created will be \u201cproj_SecTerr\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Now the Project table should appear in the list of available tables upon adding a new workflow rule. Refer below screenshot.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Workflow-Rule.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12264\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Workflow-Rule-1024x411.jpg\" alt=\"Workflow Rule\" width=\"595\" height=\"239\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Similarly it is also possible to take an existing system entity such as Library, Notes and allow it to be Workflowed. Let\u2019s consider <strong>Notes<\/strong> table as an example.\n<ul>\n<li>Add <strong>note_workflowid<\/strong> column to the <strong>Notes<\/strong> table.<\/li>\n<li>This should be done in the database and be datatype &#8220;<strong>Integer<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/li>\n<li>Once the above field is added navigate to <strong>System<\/strong> \u00e0 <strong>Metadata<\/strong> and perform <strong>Metadata Refresh<\/strong>.\u00a0Update the metadata table &#8220;<strong>custom_tables<\/strong>&#8221; so the bord_workflowid field is filled in for the Notes table.<br \/>\nselect * from custom_tables where bord_name=&#8217;Notes&#8217;<br \/>\nupdate custom_tables set bord_workflowidfield = &#8216;note_workflowid&#8217; where bord_name=&#8217;Notes&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li>Again perform Metadata operation.<br \/>\nNow Notes table should appear in the list of available tables when we add a new workflow rule.
