{"id":13008,"date":"2016-07-20T12:36:01","date_gmt":"2016-07-20T12:36:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/?p=13008"},"modified":"2018-12-04T11:05:07","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T11:05:07","slug":"troubleshooting-apache-tomcat-service-issue-of-sage-crm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2016\/07\/20\/troubleshooting-apache-tomcat-service-issue-of-sage-crm\/","title":{"rendered":"Troubleshooting Apache Tomcat Service issue of Sage CRM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>\u2018Windows could not start the Apache Tomcat CRM Tomcat7 service\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is the most terrifying error found in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sagesoftware.co.in\/product-sage-crm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sage CRM<\/a> 7.x history. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sagesoftware.co.in\/product-sage-crm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sage CRM<\/a> with failed tomcat service affects large amount of features of CRM application such as Dashboards, Mail merge functionality, Documents uploading etc. There can be various reasons for failure of Tomcat service, however, I would like to share one of my experience below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">New Stuff:<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2016\/06\/08\/hide-summary-report-button-in-sage-crm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hide Summary Report Button in Sage CRM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Recently, I was facing a very familiar issue for Dashboards in CRM application.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/1.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13009\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/1.jpg\" alt=\"1\" width=\"852\" height=\"496\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Been the first step of investigation, I checked with the status of Apache Tomcat Service in Windows services panel. On finding the service stopped, I clicked the Start button and there I faced another issue as shown below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13010\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/2.jpg\" alt=\"2\" width=\"478\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On checking the Tomcat logs and checking the files located in Tomcat\u2019s bin folder under CRM directory, I got to know that tomcat\u2019s setup file was missing from the directory.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13011\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/3.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"658\" height=\"282\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On re-deploying the file named <strong><em>\u2018tomcat7\u2019<\/em><\/strong> from another CRM instance\u2019s directory, tomcat service was able to run successfully and so were the various features of CRM application. On further investigating I found that the Antivirus installed on the machine had removed this file at the time of scanning.
