{"id":142,"date":"2009-05-30T03:53:00","date_gmt":"2009-05-30T03:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/?p=142"},"modified":"2009-05-30T03:53:00","modified_gmt":"2009-05-30T03:53:00","slug":"round-the-currency-field-value-to-3-decimal-places","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2009\/05\/30\/round-the-currency-field-value-to-3-decimal-places\/","title":{"rendered":"Round the currency field value to 3 decimal places"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some time ago I came across the question on the Sage Accpac forum where the requirement was to display the currency field to 3 decimal places.<\/p>\n<p>Well, as far as the default feature provided by sage CRM is concerned, it is quite a simple task where you can just go to <strong>User Preferences <\/strong>and change the value of <strong>Decimal Places <\/strong>field to <strong>3<\/strong> under <strong>Number Preferences <\/strong>section. But, after doing this setting all the currency fields will show the value up to three decimal places and here is what the twist is.<\/p>\n<p>The requirement was to display only <strong>single field <\/strong>up to 3 decimal places. So, in this case setting the <strong>default value <\/strong>of <strong>Decimal Places<\/strong> under <strong>User Preferences <\/strong>will not help. Then, how we can carry out this operation??<\/p>\n<p>What you can do is you can write a function on <strong>OnChangeScript<\/strong> of this <strong>currency field <\/strong>which will collect the value and round it off to <strong>three decimal places <\/strong>using Math.round an Math.pow functions. Assign this value to the field to save the same.
