One such feature of CRM is Locking the System. This option provides a way to log all users except the System Administrator out of the system when essential maintenance tasks need to be carried out.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>New Stuff:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><a title=\"Permalink to How to add Custom Entities into the Regarding field of Communication\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2018\/09\/12\/how-to-add-custom-entities-into-the-regarding-field-of-communication\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"bookmark noopener\">How to add Custom Entities into the Regarding field of Communication<\/a><\/p>\n<p>To lock the system:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>&lt;My Profile&gt; | Administration | System | Lock System<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Continue<\/strong>to log off any logged on users.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Continue<\/strong>to lock the system. The system homepage is displayed. The system is now locked.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Before implementing a lockdown of the system, it is better to prior inform all the users since locking the system may hamper their work. Users cannot log back into the system until either the System Administrator unlocks it or the maximum lockout period of three hours has elapsed.<\/p>\n<p>But have you ever wondered or come across such a situation where your System Admin user himself has been logged out of system when the system was locked? Based on my past experience, I am writing this blog where I had accidentally logged off System Admin user while the System was in Locked state. On trying to login again, I faced the error as shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20382 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/img1-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"627\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/img1-6.jpg 627w, https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/img1-6-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After investigating we found that while locking the system, the system lock data is recorded in the <strong>custom_sysparams<\/strong> table.<\/p>\n<p><strong>select * from custom_sysparams where parm_name like &#8216;%syslocked%&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The two parameters in the <strong>parm_name<\/strong> field are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SysLockedByUsrID:<\/strong> This holds the logon name of the user that locked the system e.g. Admin<\/li>\n<li><strong>SysLockedTime:<\/strong> This records when the system was locked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So you just need to execute the below query to unlock the Sage CRM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>UPDATE custom_sysparams SET Parm_Value= null WHERE parm_name like &#8216;%syslocked%&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After executing above query, give an IIS reset.
