This functionality is available for all the standard entities of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/product\/crm-development\/sage-crm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"SAGE CRM (opens in a new tab)\">SAGE CRM<\/a> i.e. Company, Person, Cases, Opportunity etc. This grouping can also be done based on a specific condition for example, if you need to create a group of Active companies only then you can achieve the same by specifying the Company status condition in the SQL view. But have you ever come across such a situation wherein a SQL view specially designed for Groups, is not visible\/listed at the time of creating one?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>New Stuff: <\/strong><\/em> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Extending the Favourites Facility in Sage CRM (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2019\/10\/23\/extending-the-favourites-facility-in-sage-crm\/\" target=\"_blank\">Extending the Favourites Facility in Sage CRM<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For creating a Group, you can either use the Standard or say <strong>System view <\/strong>or you can even use custom views i.e. <strong>Users view. <\/strong>The only condition to make it available for Groups is check the <em>Groups View<\/em> check box while creating it. However recently while creating a new group in CRM, we came across an issue wherein we couldn&#8217;t locate the custom view name that we designed for it. Below is the screenshot of the Custom view created for Company entity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/View-Using-Another-view.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><center><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/View-Using-Another-view.jpg\" alt=\"Custom view created using a reference of another SQL view\"><\/center><\/a>\n\n<font size=\"2\"><center><i>Custom view created using a reference of another SQL view<\/i><\/center><\/font><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On trying to create a new group on company entity using this view, it was not visible under the <strong>Source View<\/strong> list. Below is the screen shot of the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Without-Source-view.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><center><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Without-Source-view.jpg\" alt=\"User View name not visible under Source view list\"><\/center><\/a>\n\n<font size=\"2\"><center><i>User View name not visible under Source view list<\/i><\/center><\/font><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On further investigating, we finally got to know the reason behind this. While creating a view in CRM, one must always specify the Entity name first rather than specifying a view&#8217;s name.
