We can add fields on an entity as per the business requirement. Recently as per the client&#8217;s requirement, we have added fields on the quote grid. Fields on the quote item grid give a short description of the product. If you click on the hyperlink on the product name you will get detailed information about the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>New Stuff<\/em>: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2021\/11\/17\/mark-task-complete-from-calendar-tab\/\">Mark Task \u2018Complete\u2019 from Calendar Tab<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In native Sage CRM, there are some of the fields on the quote item grid as shown below in the screenshot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img1.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img1.png\" alt=\"\"><\/a><font size=\"2\"><center><\/center><\/font>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently as per the client&#8217;s requirement, we have added a field on the quote item grid but it was invisible on Quote Item screen. We will discuss a solution for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JFYI, we have added a field on the Quote Item Grid by following below instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Log on to the Sage CRM with Admin user.\u00a0<\/li><li>Navigate to the below path.<br>Administration | Customization| Secondary Entities | Quote Items |Lists tab | Quote Items Grid<\/li><li>Select <strong>\u201cQuote items: Product Family (quit_productfamilyid)\u201d<\/strong> and Click on <strong>\u2018Add<\/strong>\u2019.<\/li><li>The field will be added at the end of the grid, to shift the field to the upper side click on the upper arrow. Click on <strong>\u2018Save\u2019<\/strong>. Refer the below screenshot.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img2.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img2.png\" alt=\"\"><\/a><font size=\"2\"><center><\/center><\/font>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see in the below quote item grid still not showing newly added filed i.e. <strong>Product Family<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img3.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img3.png\" alt=\"\"><\/a><font size=\"2\"><center><\/center><\/font>\n\n\n\n<p>After some research, we understood that field gets displayed on Quote or Order Item grid when Metadata is refreshed in Sage CRM. Follow below steps to refresh the metadata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Log on to the CRM\u00a0with Admin user.<\/li><li>Navigate to the below path.<br>Administration | System| Metadata<\/li><li>Check \u2018Refresh All\u2019 checkbox and click on \u2018Execute Refresh\u2019 button<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img4.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img4.png\" alt=\"\"><\/a><font size=\"2\"><center><\/center><\/font>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After giving metadata, you can see that the added field (<strong>Product Family<\/strong>) will be shown on the quote item grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img5.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Img5.png\" alt=\"\"><\/a><font size=\"2\"><center><\/center><\/font>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It looks like whenever any columns are added or removed from Quote or Order Item Grid, Sage CRM user needs to \u201cMetadata Refresh\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note: If field is still invisible after refreshing metadata, then you need to run iisreset command on the Sage CRM server.
