We can\u2019t even use our organizational email servers as a small issue may lead to inboxes flooded with junk e-mails. So there has to be a simple approach to do this. In this blog post I will explain how you can download\/install\/configure ArgoSoft email server and configure the same with Outlook express as well as Sage CRM for testing purpose. The basic of the configuration is like below.<br \/>\n<strong>ArgoSoft<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 :\u00a0 Email server<br \/>\n<strong>Outlook Express<\/strong>:\u00a0 Email Clients (For sending\/receiving emails)<br \/>\n<strong>Sage CRM<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 :\u00a0 Configurations for email<br \/>\nYou can follow below mentioned steps.<br \/>\n<strong>Installing and setting up ArgoSoft email server:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download <strong>ArGoSoft<\/strong> Mail Server by clicking here <strong>www.ArGoSoft.com<\/strong>, then click &#8220;<strong>Save This\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 Program to Disk<\/strong>&#8221; and click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Download the above files on hard drive. After downloading, double-click the <strong>agsmail<\/strong> icon. Click <strong>Setup<\/strong> and follow the on-screen instructions for installing <strong>ArGoSoft<\/strong> Mail Server.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Start ArGoSoft Mail Server by clicking <strong>Start, Programs, ArGoSoft Mail Server, MailServer.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>To do the configuration settings Click on the <strong>Tools |<\/strong> <strong>Option<\/strong>s.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>General<\/strong> tab, enter your DNS server. If you do not know what your DNS server is, click the question mark next to the input field for more information on how to find your DNS server. Also, make sure that all checkboxes are checked.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>In the Ports tab, make sure that <strong>SMTP<\/strong> is set to 25, <strong>POP3<\/strong> is set to 8888, and <strong>Finger<\/strong> is set to 79.\u00a0 If you are using a proxy server such as Win Proxy or Spoon Proxy, it is recommended that you change the SMTP port in your proxy server to a port other than port 25 such as port 26 to avoid conflicts between the proxy server and <strong>ArGoSoft<\/strong>.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Option11.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2667\" title=\"Option1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Option11.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>For additional security, a user name and password can be set to avoid unauthorized use of this mail server. This feature is optional and in most cases, it is not necessary to use SMTP Authentication. Also be aware that some earlier versions of mail programs do not have an option to use a SMTP Authentication username and password. To use this feature, in the SMTP Authentication tab, check the Enable SMTP Authentication checkbox. If you enable the SMTP Authentication, you must then add the SMTP User Name and SMTP Password to each of the Mail Clients that use this program, locally on the computer ArGoSoft is installed on and computers accessing Argo Soft on the network.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Option2.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2668\" title=\"Option2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Option2.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Configure Email Client (Outlook express) for testing:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1. <\/strong>Open <strong>Outlook Express<\/strong> and click <strong>Tools<\/strong> | <strong>Accounts<\/strong>. Select the proper mail account and click Properties. If no email accounts create one.<br \/>\n2. Under the <strong>General<\/strong> tab, place the email address that you are using in the email Address section.<br \/>\n3. Under the <strong>Servers<\/strong> tab, change the <strong>Outgoing Mail (SMTP)<\/strong> to the IP Address of the computer that you installed the <strong>ArGoSoft<\/strong> Mail Server or &#8220;<strong>localhost<\/strong>&#8221; if that computer is the same computer that the email program is installed on. For extra security you can check the box marked <strong>My Server Requires Authentication<\/strong>. Click <strong>Ok<\/strong>, and close the program. However, for this option to work you must set up the <strong>SMTP Authentication<\/strong> feature by using the instructions supplied in Step 6 and add the <strong>username<\/strong> and <strong>password<\/strong> supplied above.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Server1.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2670\" title=\"Server\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Server1.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Advanced.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2671\" title=\"Advanced\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Advanced.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Configurations in Sage CRM for outgoing and incoming emails:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to <strong>Sage CRM<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Administration -&gt; E-mail and Documents -&gt; E-mail Configuration.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Here you need to set the SMTP information for your mail server.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Administration -&gt; E-mail and Documents -&gt;E-mail Management Server Options<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click on New button.<\/li>\n<li>Here also you need to fill the <strong>SMTP<\/strong> and <strong>POP3<\/strong> information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Testing the settings<\/strong>:<br \/>\nOnce all the settings are done testing can be done as follows. \u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Consider there are two accounts<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0i.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"mailto:abc@xyz.com\">abc@xyz.com<\/a><br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"mailto:zxc@xyz.com\">zxc@xyz.com<\/a><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Configure both of these accounts in Argosoft, Outlook express as explained above.<\/li>\n<li>Send email from CRM using one of the id\u2019s and check in outlook express whether email is received on another email address.<\/li>\n<li>If anything wrong with sending and receiving emails, you can open the Argosoft email server from system tray and check the logs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whenever we design email features in Sage CRM it\u2019s always a hectic job to test it using actual scenarios.
