We are excited to announce that in the latest version of GUMU™ Sage CRM \u2013 Sage 100 Integration<\/strong>, we\u2019ve introduced a new enhancement \u2014 Bill of Materials (BOM) Functionality<\/strong>.
This new feature enables users to add BOM items and their associated options directly within Sage CRM Quote and Order screens<\/strong>, providing a more flexible and seamless quoting experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BOM Functionality Overview<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With this enhancement, Sage CRM now makes it simple to add BOM items and their associated options directly within Quotes or Orders. Once a BOM item and its options are selected, the system automatically calculates the price based on the chosen configuration, ensuring accuracy and saving time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new \u201cBOM Item\u201d<\/strong> button has been introduced on the line item screen and is displayed only when a BOM-enabled item is selected. Clicking this button opens a dedicated window where users can view and choose from the available options under each BOM category. After selection, the chosen options\u2014along with their descriptions\u2014are neatly displayed in the BOM Options<\/strong> column, providing clear visibility into the configured item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enabling the BOM Functionality<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

To start using the BOM functionality in Sage CRM, a few simple configuration steps are required. Once enabled, users can add BOM items and manage their options within Quotes and Orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configuration Steps in Sage CRM<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Enable BOMAccess<\/strong>
Navigate to Administration \u2192 Customization \u2192 Translations<\/strong>.
Search for BOMaccess<\/strong> in the Caption Code<\/em> field and set its value to true<\/strong>, as shown in the screenshot below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enable BOM Item Flag<\/strong>
In the same Translations<\/strong> section, search for IsBOMItem<\/strong> under Caption Code<\/em> and set IsBOMItem = true<\/strong>, as illustrated in the screenshot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing these settings, a metadata refresh<\/strong> is required. To do this, go to Administration \u2192 System \u2192 Metadata<\/strong> and perform the refresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding BOM Items and Options via the New Line Item Screen<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
