Now our network administrators had changed password for SA account for security purpose and trying to logon to Sage CRM and get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2009\/01\/08\/you-may-need-to-recreate-views-manually\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You May Need to Recreate Views Manually<\/a>. (He was simply not aware that Sage CRM had used SA account for connecting to Sage CRM database.)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ErrorMsgImg1.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6038\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ErrorMsgImg1.png\" alt=\"ErrorMsgImg1\" width=\"611\" height=\"381\" \/><\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em; color: #993300;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><i>New Stuff:<\/i><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2013\/12\/07\/adding-new-fields-on-web-order-item-entry-screen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adding new fields on Web Order Item Entry screen<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">There are several reasons for this error message to be appearing. I will consolidate all of them with Cause and their Resolutions in this post.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cause 1:\u00a0<\/strong><b>Sage CRM database user password has been changed<br \/>\n<\/b><b>Resolution:<br \/>\n<\/b>If Sage CRM database password is changed in Microsoft SQL server and not in Sage CRM then resetting the password in Sage CRM resolves an issue by navigating to Administration | System | Database.<br \/>\n<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">If you are unable to login to Sage CRM, user can change it from registry by navigating to below path and changing the <\/span><b style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">DatabasePassword<\/b><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"> node.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><i>For 32-bit server:<\/i><\/strong><i style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><br \/>\n<\/i><i>In Registry Editor n<\/i>avigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | eWare | Config | &lt;&lt;CRM Instance&gt;&gt;<br \/>\n<strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><i>For 64-bit server:<\/i><\/strong><i style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><br \/>\n<\/i><i>In Registry Editor n<\/i>avigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Wow6432Node | eWare | Config | &lt;&lt;CRM Instance&gt;&gt;<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Note:<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b><i>1.\u00a0<\/i><i>Make sure you have backed up registry before making any changes.<br \/>\n<\/i><i>2.\u00a0<\/i><i>When password is changed from registry, it doesn\u2019t remains encrypted. To encrypt it, you need to change it by navigating to <\/i><i>Administration | System | Database, once you are able to login in Sage CRM.<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cause 2:\u00a0<\/strong><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Configuration on <\/strong><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Sage CRM database server<br \/>\n<\/strong><b>Resolution:<br \/>\n<\/b>On Sage CRM database server<br \/>\n1) If TCP\/IP protocol is disabled.<br \/>\n2) Microsoft SQL server Browser is not running.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cause 3:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>vSentinel View Needs to be dropped<br \/>\n<\/strong><b>Resolution:<br \/>\n<\/b>Dropping of vSentinel view recreates all views based on its definition stored in metadata.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Cause 4:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Existence of <\/strong><strong>vGroupEntities and vGroupLookup views<br \/>\n<\/strong><b>Resolution:<br \/>\n<\/b>Kindly check if the views vGroupEntities and vGroupLookup exists in your CRM database. We have documented the same <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2009\/01\/08\/you-may-need-to-recreate-views-manually\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Cause 5:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Sage CRM is trying to connect wrong database<br \/>\n<\/strong><b>Resolution:<br \/>\n<\/b>Kindly check if Sage CRM is pointing to the correct database. User can check the same from registry by navigating to path mentioned in Cause 1 and checking the<strong> DefaultDatabase <\/strong>node<strong>.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cause 6:\u00a0<\/strong><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Mismatch between Sage CRM Versions<br \/>\n<\/strong><b>Resolution:<br \/>\n<\/b>It can also happen when there is a mismatch between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2013\/11\/20\/identify-sage-crm-version-and-its-patches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sage CRM version and its database<\/a>.<br \/>\n<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">If you do not find your solution in the above listed, just don\u2019t get panic and check both SQL and System logs which gets created in Sage CRM logs folder. It will probably point you to the origin of an error.
