But one of our Sage partners came up with this challenging request in GP and it was a very exciting experience for our Custom Development team to work on something new and exciting. They have been working on sharing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/salesforce\/author\/greytrix\/\">salesforce<\/a>\u00a0tips recently.<\/span><br \/>\nAnyways, in this, our client wanted a custom WCF service using which he can use to exchange data with Microsoft Great Plains.<br \/>\n<em><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">READ ALSO:<\/span><\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sageaccpacerp\/2012\/04\/13\/gumu-is-now-compatible-to-migrate-from-ms-dynamics-great-plains-to-sage-accpac-erp\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Convert your MS Dynamics GP database to Sage 300 ER<\/em><\/span>P<\/a><br \/>\nThe custom WCF service accepts the request in\u00a0 XML format and gives response by processing the request.\u00a0 Below are some basic feature of the WCF service \u2013<br \/>\nExtract data from Great Plains \u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Account Structure i.e. cost center, divisions, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Sales person by invoices<\/li>\n<li>Aging details by Accounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Create data in Great Plains \u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vendors<\/li>\n<li>Purchase Orders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In this custom web service, we made use of eConnect web services of Microsoft Great Plains. We extracted most of the details using\u00a0 eConnect. However, if we did not find any specific details, then we queried the Great Plains SQL server database to fetch the data. Since we are using WCF services, it provides a rich level of security during data exchanges without compromising on the speed performance.<br \/>\nSince this is custom service, this can be tailored to meet more specific details of users.
