In this blog, we will be explaining various easy methods to change the caption name of fields of Sage CRM.<br \/>\n<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Let\u2019s say you want to change Company Name field caption to Client Name.<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Field1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6360\" alt=\"Field1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Field1.jpg\" width=\"622\" height=\"78\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><b>Method 1: <\/b>Change caption from Field definition<\/span><br \/>\n1) Log into Sage CRM as Admin user and navigate to <b>Administration | Customization | Company.<br \/>\n<\/b>2)\u00a0Select Company Name field from the Company Name (comp_name) field.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Field2.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6361\" alt=\"Field2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Field2.jpg\" width=\"624\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">3) You will see Database field properties screen. Change the Caption property from Company Name to Client Name.<br \/>\n<\/span>4) Click on <b>Save<\/b> button to save the changes.<br \/>\nOnce done, screen will show you Client Name instead of Company Name.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Field3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6362\" alt=\"Field3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Field3.jpg\" width=\"623\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><b>Method 2: <\/b>Change<b> <\/b>caption from Create Script section of screen<\/span><br \/>\n1) Log into Sage CRM as Admin user and navigate to <b>Administration | Customization <\/b>screen<b>.<br \/>\n<\/b>2) Select any primary entity from the list of primary entities.<br \/>\n3) Navigate to the Screens tab and check <b>Inline Customization<\/b><b> checkbox.<br \/>\n<\/b>4) Once this is done, navigate to previous screen where you want to change field caption. On that screen, you will see that Customize Screen option along with hyperlink will be visible on screen.<br \/>\n5) Click on that and you will see the <b>Maintain Screen Definition<\/b> screen as shown below which will have field added in <b>Desktop HTML Screen Contents<\/b> block.<br \/>\n6) Copy and paste below code in the Create Script section.<br \/>\nCaption=\u2019Contact Number\u2019<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Field4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6363\" alt=\"Field4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Field4.jpg\" width=\"623\" height=\"211\" \/><\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><br \/>\n7) Then click on\u00a0<\/span><b style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Update<\/b><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">\u00a0button and finally click on\u00a0<\/span><b style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Save<\/b><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">\u00a0button.<br \/>\n<\/span>8) Once done, screen will show you Client Name instead of Company Name.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><b>Method 3: <\/b>Change Caption using Translations<\/span><br \/>\n1) Log into Sage CRM as Admin user and navigate to <b>Administration |Customization<\/b>| <b>Translations <\/b>and check <b>Inline Translation Mode<\/b> checkbox.<br \/>\n2) Once this is done, navigate to the previous screen where you want to change the field caption. You will observe * symbol in front of its caption.<br \/>\n3) Click on that symbol and change <b>US Translation<\/b> from Company Name to Client Name.
