I have been writing about the several issues you can face with this process when upgrading from previous versions of the CRM or restoring databases from other instances. In this blog I will explain scenario where database is restored from different instance of SageCRM on another server.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><b><i>Related Post: <\/i><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2013\/10\/07\/registration-screen-in-crm-v7-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Registration screen in CRM v7.2<\/a><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2013\/10\/07\/registration-screen-in-crm-v7-2\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\nWell to start, here is the message that pops up when you are not registered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7592\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG1.jpg\" alt=\"IMG1\" width=\"1139\" height=\"429\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To get this resolved you usually navigate to below path to register the license key manually.<br \/>\n<b>Administration | System | License Key Details<\/b><br \/>\nYou must see key for manual registration. But in this scenario, you won\u2019t see key for manual registration (see highlighted area) along with this you get the error message saying <strong>\u201cCannot create machine Id: IP address can\u2019t be determined\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7593\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG2.jpg\" alt=\"IMG2\" width=\"1237\" height=\"856\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This error usually occurs when <strong>Server Name<\/strong> in parameters table of SageCRM database is not correctly updated. Now this might be because you have restored database from different instance and server all together. Using the below SQL Query you can check what is the current value of parameter.<br \/>\n<strong><i>select<\/i><i> * from Custom_Sysparams (Nolock) where parm_name = &#8216;ServerNames&#8217;<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG3.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG3.png\" alt=\"IMG3\" width=\"1049\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If the highlighted value is not the correct server name, then execute an update query to update it with the correct one (Your sage CRM application server).
