Data security can be provided at various levels for an entity. In this blog, we will explain how security can be applied to control entry of appointments in Sage CRM.<br \/>\n<strong><em><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993300;\">New Stuff: <\/span><\/em><\/strong><a title=\"What if user is locked out in Sage CRM?\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/2014\/07\/25\/what-if-user-is-locked-out-in-sage-crm\/\" target=\"_blank\">What if user is locked out in Sage CRM?<\/a><br \/>\nEntry of appointments can be controlled by editing one of the system parameter. Follow the below instructions to update system parameter.<br \/>\n1) Start SQL server and select Sage CRM database.<br \/>\n2) Execute below query on database.<br \/>\nupdate Custom_SysParams set parm_value=&#8217;Y&#8217; where Parm_Name=&#8217;AllowNewAppointments&#8217;<br \/>\n3) Execute Refresh Metadata by navigating to Administration | System | Metadata.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993300;\">\u2013 Please ensure proper backups are taken before executing the following solutions \u2013<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nYou will observe that New Appointment button will not be visible under Communications tab of Company, Person, Cases, Opportunity or any other entity. Refer below screenshot.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/App1.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8288\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagecrm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/App1.jpg\" alt=\"App1\" width=\"626\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nIt also restricts the user to create new appointment buttons from Calendar view and List view, Quick Appointment button from Calendar tabs of My CRM and Team CRM.
