Workflow controls how transactions flow through system and their accounting posting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagebusinesscloud\/2019\/09\/09\/workflows-in-sage-intacct\/\">Workflow<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In Order Entry, Purchasing and Inventory modules;\ndifferent transactions available to users are determined using a workflow. For\nexample; transactions such as sales order, purchase invoice, inventory receipt\nare different transactions enabled using workflows.<\/li><li>Using workflow transactions are processed from\none step to another. For example; using a workflow you create sales order and\nthen it can be processed or converted to another type i.e.; sales invoice.<\/li><li>With workflow; you can define if a transaction\ncan affect general ledger posting. For example; when sales invoice is posted it\nneeds to post sales entries affecting cost of goods sold and inventory accounts.\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Workflows are of two types i.e.; Standard or Advanced.&nbsp; Standard workflows are default workflows\nadded by system when you first configure Order Entry, Purchasing or\nInventory.&nbsp; Whereas if you need to add\nadditional transactions you need to enable Advanced workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A standard workflow are already configured and ready to\nuse.&nbsp; The workflow defined by system\ncomprises of all transactions. So if you look at standard workflows in Order\nEntry you will notice transaction such as sales order, sales invoice etc.&nbsp; The life cycles are already defined that is a\nsales quote is converted to sales order and sales invoice is created from sales\norder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case if there are any additional business requirements;\nusers can switch to advanced workflow.&nbsp;\nThe option can be enabled for Order Entry, Purchasing and Inventory modules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With advanced workflow; you can create additional transaction\nas per need, define transaction flow, inventory effect and general ledger\nposting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Couple of important things to note about advanced workflow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Once you switch advanced workflow you can&#8217;t returned back to standard workflow.<\/li><li>Turning on the advanced workflow in any one of the module; it is automatically enabled for other modules.\u00a0 So lets say; you enable the advanced workflow option in Order Entry configuration the advanced workflow will be enabled for Purchasing and Inventory module.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Sage Intacct, Workflows defines how transactions are created and process in Order Entry, Purchasing and Inventory modules.
