A label\ncalled the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is used to define whether material\nis hazardous. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While entering any new item in Sage Intacct if we need to define whether that item is hazardous and need special care while transporting we can make the use of custom field to enable a checkbox as &nbsp;\u2018is hazardous item\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read More:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/sage-intacct\/development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sage Intacct Development Services<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this blog,\nwe are going to discuss how custom fields of Sage Intacct will help in such\nscenarios so that we can capture data in Intacct that is unique to our business\npractices. Once a custom field is being added, it can become part of standard\nforms, such as Order Entry, Shipments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will first start with the process to define custom field in Sage Intacct:- <strong>Steps for Adding a Custom Field \u2018is hazardous\u2019 at item master:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to&nbsp;Platform Services, then click the + icon beside&nbsp;Custom Fields. <font size=\"2\"><center><i>Custom Field Navigation<\/i><\/center><\/font><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the&nbsp;Object&nbsp;from the drop-down list to which you want to add a custom field and then click Next. In this case we will add a custom field i.e. \u2018Is Hazardous\u2019 on Item Setup record.<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagebusinesscloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Custom-field-Choose-object.png\" target=\"_blank\"> <\/a><font size=\"2\"><center><i>Choose Object<\/i><\/center><\/font><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose a field data type :<br>You can choose Data type for your Custom Field. It is depends on the type of data you want to capture.<font size=\"2\"><center><i>Choose Datatype<\/i><\/center><\/font><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select field characteristics: Fill in the required values and set other values as needed for field characteristics for the data type you chose. Use a label and a description that help you to understand what type of data you need to enter in the field.<font size=\"2\"><center><i>Choose field characteristics<\/i><\/center><\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose deployment options: This will indicate whether the field is required and where it should appear in Intacct. Below are the various deployment options:-<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><td>Option    <\/td><td>\n   Description\n   <\/td><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>   Required   <\/td><td>\n  Makes the field required. Depending on the field type,\n  the user must enter a value or select an option in order for the object to be\n  saved.\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Hidden   <\/td><td>\n  Hides the field so that it is not displayed onscreen. \n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>   Inactive   <\/td><td>\n  Hides and inactivates the field.\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Field set   <\/td><td>\n  Specifies the section to which you want to add the\n  field. You can add a field to an existing section or create your own section.\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Show on page   <\/td><td>\n  Specifies the tab on which the&nbsp;Field set&nbsp;appears.
