If you\nenter the same journal entry on a regular basis, you can save time by\nautomating the journal entry. Examples of recurring\njournal entries are the monthly rent paid for a property or the expenses\nincurred for an insurance policy. You can use recurring entries to decrease\nmaintenance on journal entries that occur regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Sage Intacct Recurring General Ledger journal entries can be created only if your company uses standard reporting periods. Custom reporting periods aren&#8217;t supported. Go to Application &gt; General Ledger &gt; All  &gt; Journal Entries &gt; Click the +sign besides&nbsp;<strong>Recurring<\/strong>&nbsp;to create a new entry. Or click&nbsp;<strong>Recurring<\/strong>&nbsp;then click the&nbsp;<strong>Edit<\/strong>&nbsp;link beside an existing entry. <\/p>\n\n\n<center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagebusinesscloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Recurring-Journal-Entries.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px; align: center;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagebusinesscloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Recurring-Journal-Entries.jpg\" alt=\"Recurring Journal Entries\" \/><\/a><\/center><center><i>Recurring Journal Entries<br \/><br \/><\/i><\/center>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>When you create a recurring schedule, enter the date you want the scheduled recurrence to start. This is the date that the first journal entry is created.<br>When changing a recurring schedule&#8211;whether to end the recurrence or to change the&nbsp;<strong>Ending on<\/strong>&nbsp;date&#8211;best practice is to change the&nbsp;<strong>Start date<\/strong>&nbsp;to today&#8217;s date, regardless of the Ending on date. When you change the schedule for a recurring entry, journal entries posted on this schedule are re-posted unless you change the schedule starting date.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To keep the journal\nentry running perpetually, select \u201cNever.\u201d Otherwise, select a fixed number of\ntransactions to be created or a specific date when the recurring journal entry\nshould expire.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A&nbsp;<strong>recurring\njournal entry<\/strong>&nbsp;is a business transaction that is&nbsp;<strong>repeated<\/strong>&nbsp;regularly,\nfor example, the deferral of costs or revenues for an invoice where the same\namount is&nbsp;<strong>posted<\/strong>&nbsp;over a period of 12 months. It consists of a\ntemplate&nbsp;<strong>journal entry<\/strong>&nbsp;and a recurrence rule attached to it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To send an email alert when a scheduled entry fails, in the Email field, type one or more email addresses. Separate multiple addresses with a comma or semicolon.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If the recurring journal entry is always reversed, you can schedule the reversing entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select\nthe option to \u201cAutomatically reverse this journal entry.\u201d<\/li><li>Select\nthe type of reversing schedule you want to create, and then specify the\nschedule details.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;You\u2019ll see two scheduling options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Link reversing entry to original journal entry:&nbsp;<\/strong>This option lets you schedule the reversing entry for a certain number of days, weeks, months, or years after the original entry.<\/li><li><strong>Create independent reversal schedule:<\/strong>&nbsp;This option lets you create a reversing schedule that isn\u2019t tied to the date of the original entry.
