We have developed a customization for one of our clients to automate the distribution (assignment) of serial numbers during shipment process without bring any user interface and on just a click of a button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their business problem was they dealt with Serialized inventory with huge transaction quantities, so while doing shipments in MAS 500 the shipper had to distribute (assign) the serial number or lot number manually. So when there are too many lines and large number of quantity the task used to become very tiring and time-consuming resulting into lower productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a solution to this we did the customization where we added a button labeled \u201cAuto Distribute\u201d<\/b> that would automatically distribute (assign) the serial numbers and lot numbers to items on shipment, where the process would fetches the serial number according to the first in first out basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below screenshot shows the Custom Button.<\/p>\n\n\n

On \u2018Edit Shipment\u2019 screen we have added the \u2018Auto Distribute\u2019 Button. Clicking on this button the process will automatically distributes (Assigned) the serial number or lot number according to first in first out basis. User can view the distribution of particular line item by clicking on the standard \u2018Dist\u2026\u2019 button on the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
