It is not uncommon for an ERP consultant to be asked for features that appear logical but seems difficult to be implemented in the system. We had one such scenario when one of our client wanted to create a purchase order of 1 case and 2 bottles of a beverage. \u00a0Here, one case contains 10 bottles of beverage. The client wanted to enter a single line for this (i.e. 1.2 Case), which was logical. This was quite easily implemented in Sage X3.<\/p>\n

Although this was easy to implement but was worth of writing about. So, following is a brief about solution we implemented.<\/p>\n

The unit of measure can be defined from:
\nCommon data <\/em><\/strong>-><\/em><\/strong> Common tables <\/em><\/strong>-><\/em><\/strong> Units of measure<\/em><\/strong>.
\n\"\"<\/a>Here you can define the UOMs required for the transaction.
\nOnce done, we will have to assign the conversion factor between these UOMs. This can be done from
\nCommon data <\/em><\/strong>-><\/em><\/strong> Common tables -><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0UOM conversion<\/em><\/strong>.
\n\"\"<\/a>Now, assign the desired UOM to the product from

Here, the smaller UOM, Bottle (BOT) will be the stocking unit and Case (CAS) will be the Purchase unit.
\nNow you can use this unit in transactions like Purchase, Sales etc. As shown in the below image, I have created a purchase order for 1 case and 2 bottles of beverage.
