In such scenarios, Sage X3 has an efficient and easy to use a utility called Configurator.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Configurator simplifies the process of creation or selection of products, BOMs and routing. In this article, we see an overview of the process to create and use Configurator (excluding the technical nitty-gritty of the process). Once you are aware of the basic facts you can easily use the Configurator on your own with the help of technical documentation available for this subject or we may take you through the detailed process in our upcoming blogs.<\/p>\n<p>We need to set a configurator with help of some basic parameters;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Symbol:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagex3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/1_Symbols.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1230\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagex3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/1_Symbols.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>The symbol is a question or variable that is used while using the Configurator.<br \/>\n<strong>Parameters &gt; Configurator &gt; Configurator symbols<\/strong><br \/>\nNow each symbol has an answer or responses (set of possible values).<\/li>\n<li>Response:<br \/>\nResponses are the answers for a Symbol.<br \/>\n<strong>Parameters &gt; Configurator &gt; Responses<\/strong><br \/>\nThe response can have several possible values which can be entered in the grid given on the screen.<\/li>\n<li>Configurator scripts (Scenario):<br \/>\nConfigurator script is a set of steps or script that executes to create a product along with its technical data. This is the center point where in all the above functions merge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Parameters &gt; Configurator &gt; Configurator scripts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The vital product data including the product code is created based on questions asked by the script using symbols. Fill in the \u2018Site\u2019 and desired \u2018Scenario\u2019 and click \u2018OK\u2019.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now, \u2018Scenario\u2019 screen will be displayed. Here, fill in the values for the \u2018Symbols\u2019(Questions).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once values are entered, click on \u2018Validation\u2019 and \u2018Configuration Results\u2019 screen will be displayed.
