A Payments is like an accountant. It keeps track of who owe whom and how much. Basically it is a transfer of money or assets to another person or business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may come across a situation where you would like to do payments for the sales invoices. Sometimes while doing payments for sales invoices we may find any difficulty or error like ‘payment transaction is not of receipt type’. Sage X3 has a functionality of solving this error message. Refer below screen shot:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to:<\/strong><\/em> Sales \u2192 Invoice \u2192 Invoices \u2192 Payments<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\nNow for solving above\nerror message which is occurring while doing the payment of the sales\ninvoices. Follow below steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nStep1:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. \n\tCheck which payment\n\tmethod you are using while doing payment. Lets take the above screen\n\tshot for an example. As you can see that the payment method which is\n\tapplied there is ‘CHQ’.\n\t<\/li>
  2. \n\tAlso Check Payment\n\ttransaction which is set their in the Sales invoice Payments screen\n\tI.e ‘IRBNK’.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Check below screen shot, in that you can see clearly which ‘Payment Method’<\/strong> and ‘Payment Transaction’<\/strong> is getting applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    Step2:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Navigate to<\/strong><\/em>:\nSetup\n\u2192 A\/P-A\/R accounting \u2192 Payment entry types \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. \n\tSelect the payment which is used in the sales invoice\n\tpayment screen ie ‘IRBNK’.\n\t<\/li>
    2. \n\tCheck ‘SIGN’ field if it is unspecified, then change it\n\tto ‘Revenue’. We can also change it to ‘Expense’. But as here, we\n\tare creating payments for sales transactions , so we are using\n\t‘Revenue’. If we want to create payments for purchase transactions\n\twith same payment entry type, just change the SIGN field to\n\t‘expense’.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n\n\n

      \nUnspecified: It means ‘Not stated properly or not\ndescribed in detail’ means the amount should get debited or credited\nfrom the customer’s account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Now change the sign field to ‘Revenue’. Because in accounting, revenue is the income that a business has, usually from the sales of goods to customers that is why we are changing the sign to ‘Revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

      \nNow after doing all the above steps, just go to the :\nSales \u2192 Invoice \u2192 Invoices \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \nand check this is error is resolved or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. \n\tCreate New sales invoice transaction.\n\t<\/li>
      2. \n\tPost it.\n\t<\/li>
      3. \n\tClick on the Payment button which is on the right\n\tpanel.\n\t<\/li>
      4. \n\tSet payment method as ‘CHQ’ , payment transaction as\n\t‘IRBNK’\n\t<\/li>
      5. \n\tEnter Bank \n\t\n\t<\/li>
      6. \n\tEnter Amount\n\t<\/li>
      7. \n\tClick on Ok\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Then your payment will get generated for required sales invoice. Refer below screen shot:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
