Automated Data Collection (ADC) in Sage X3 provides efficient solutions addressing staff efficiency in warehouse management, including accuracy and timeliness.<\/p>\n

Sage X3 comes with numerous ADC screens that can be accessed through RF terminals. However, in some scenarios, it is desired to have custom\/new ADC screen that can be accessed through RF terminal or Web Server.<\/p>\n

New Stuff:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Accessing Sage ERP X3 using RF (Radio Frequency) Devices \/ VT220 Terminals<\/a><\/p>\n

So, this blog will take through a short journey of creating an ADC screen in Sage X3.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Create a copy of an existing ADC screen, generally one that starts with \u2018V\u2019 and has size set to \u2018VT Screen\u2019. This would save a lot of configuration task on this screen.<\/li>\n
  2. Make sure that the Activity code is set to \u2018ADC\u2019 and Size is set to \u2018VT Screen\u2019.<\/li>\n
  3. Add fields and code as required for the screen.<\/li>\n
  4. Now let us create the Window for the VT Screen. Select the \u2018Active\u2019 and \u2018VT Window\u2019 option. Select the respective module and Window type.<\/li>\n
  5. Set the Header screen to \u2018AVTENT\u2019 by default.

  6. Add the VT Screen that we have created. Finally add buttons if required.<\/li>\n
  7. Now create an Action that would call load up the VT Window. Set the Main window to The VT Window we created.<\/li>\n
  8. Finally create a Function with Parent Menu set to \u2018VXADI\u2019<\/strong> and Action code set to the action we just created.<\/li>\n
  9. Run \u2018Menu Validation\u2019 from \u2018Development\u00a0><\/strong>\u00a0Utilities ><\/strong>\u00a0Dictionary ><\/strong>\u00a0Validations ><\/strong>\u00a0Menus<\/strong>\u2019 and restart Sage X3 client. You should see the newly added ADC screen under \u2018ADC\u2019 <\/strong>module.<\/li>\n
  10. Now confirm if the screen is functioning as expected and then we can make it visible on the RF Terminal screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Following are the steps to make an ADC screen visible in RF terminals:<\/p>\n

    1. Go to \u2018Parameters ><\/strong>\u00a0Users ><\/strong>\u00a0Menu Profiles\u2019 and right click on the node to which the newly created ADC window is to be added.<\/li>\n
    2. Click on \u2018Add a Function\u2019 and select the Function corresponding to the ADC window.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Click on save and check if the RF terminal and you should see the newly added option under the respective node.
