{"id":22582,"date":"2021-06-23T08:14:16","date_gmt":"2021-06-23T08:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagex3\/?p=22582"},"modified":"2021-06-23T08:14:19","modified_gmt":"2021-06-23T08:14:19","slug":"how-to-add-custom-reports-to-printer-icon-on-customized-window","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/sagex3\/2021\/06\/23\/how-to-add-custom-reports-to-printer-icon-on-customized-window\/","title":{"rendered":"How to add Custom Reports to Printer Icon on Customized Window"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Report:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;report&nbsp;is a document that presents information in an organized format for a specific purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crystal Report:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crystal Reports&nbsp;is an application&nbsp;used to create <em>custom&nbsp;reports<\/em>&nbsp;from a variety of data sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It includes the major features for an application to create database reporting environments, such as data access, report design\/formatting, report viewing, and application integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crystal Reports is a popular Windows-based report that allows a developer to create reports and dashboards from a variety of data sources with a <em>minimum of code to write<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crystal Reports is designed to produce reports from virtually any data source. <em>Formulas, cross-tabs, sub-reports, and conditional formatting<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main purpose of Crystal Reports is to allow users to pull their desired data from a data source, such as an&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.oracle.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oracle<\/a>&nbsp;or MS&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sql-server\/sql-server-2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SQL Server<\/a>&nbsp;database, and present the data in a<em>n organized way<\/em>. Crystal Reports provides you with a <em>powerful, dynamic, and actionable reporting solution<\/em> that helps to <em>design, explore, visualize, and deliver reports<\/em> embedding in enterprise applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reports in X3:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>X3 have an option of integrating the Crystal Reports in their applications. Following steps to include crystal report on X3 and adding those reports on customized window<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>STEP 1: Create the Report in x3 with Crystal Report.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: .rpt is an output file created by Crystal Reports. Place the .rpt file on sage ENG\\Report Folder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Navigate to<\/strong>:<\/em> <em><strong>All -&gt; Development -&gt; Script dictionary -&gt; Reports<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Report Code Field:<\/strong> Enter User defined name for the Report<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Active:<\/strong> Checkbox checked<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Characteristics of departure:<\/strong> Type: Normal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crystal report:<\/strong> Crystal report name which is in Sage ENG\\Report &nbsp;folder&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;   Orientation:landscape<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Paper size: A4 or Default.    Refer Fig1.1<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Report Dictionary, Parameter Tab, enter the parameter if added on crystal report input parameters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report can be directly printed from x3 menu More-&gt;Reports-&gt;Reports-&gt;Reports<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>STEP 2: Create the Print Codes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Navigate to: Setup-&gt;Destination-&gt;Print Codes<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The print codes are entered in mass in a grid. Each grid line is used to associate an internal code to a print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Same internal codes can be entered in order to trigger a different report on&nbsp; &nbsp;print. Refer Fig 2.1<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>STEP 3: Assign Report to Function:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Navigate to<u> :<\/u><\/strong><em>Development-&gt;Script Dictionary-&gt;Functions<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the Function of the Customized window, under the miscellaneous section\/printing field enter the internal code created for print codes as shown in STEP 2.
