Sequence numbers help maintain consistency and order in various processes within the ERP system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how you can work with sequence numbers in Sage X3:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1<\/strong>. <strong><u>Configuring sequence numbers (GESANM):<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Sequence numbers can be set up and managed through the &#8220;Sequence number&#8221; function. You can access the function through Structures. Use the below path as,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nav &gt; Setup &gt; General parameters &gt; Sequence number definition &gt; Structures.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this function, you define the format of the sequence number, the starting value, and any increments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Definition level<\/u><\/strong> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Definition level defines the seq number where you are using. Eg : length is 4 = 0001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Complement <\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp; It will display the entered data in the formula column as a sequence number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fiscal year<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; It will display the fiscal year of the company as a seq number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Period&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211;<\/strong> It will display the period of the company as a seq number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Formula&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>&#8211; It will display the given formula values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For eg <\/strong>: As requested if you want to get data from an existing table just enter the table and the field. ([F:PTD]PTHNUM) in the Formula Column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Where, I&#8217;m using the Component type as formula and In formula column have entered the table and field from where the data to be fetched as a sequence number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Depending on the datatype enter the field as shown in fig.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>[F:PTD]PTHNUM&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Receipt number from Receipt table.<\/li><li>NUM$[F:PTD]POPLIN&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Product line from Receipt table.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3<\/strong>. <strong><u>Viewing Sequence Number Usage<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Sage X3 usually provides a way to track and view the usage of sequence numbers. This<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>can be helpful for auditing and ensuring that there are no gaps or duplicates in the numbering sequence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><u>NOTE:<\/u><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m generating sequence numbers for miscellaneous receipts.
