With increasing GST scrutiny and complex multi-location operations, managing Input Service Distributor (ISD)<\/strong> compliance has become a challenge for organizations operating across multiple GST registrations. To address this, we are excited to introduce a new ISD Management module in Sage X3<\/a><\/strong>, designed to automate, control, and simplify site-wise ISD distribution<\/strong>\u2014all within the ERP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who Should Use This Module?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This module is ideal for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Organizations with multiple GST-registered sites<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Shared service centers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Corporate offices distributing common service costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Finance and tax teams looking to automate ISD compliance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    To access the new ISD Management module in Sage X3, navigate to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We will now review how this screen works in detail. Before proceeding, it is important to note that the tax code created<\/strong> specifically for ISD <\/strong>must be selected in the purchase invoice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Only those purchase invoices that are created using the ISD tax code<\/strong> will appear in the Purchase Invoice Selection<\/strong> section of the ISD Management screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Below are the tax codes that have been created for ISD purposes in purchase invoices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For demonstration, we have created two new purchase invoices\u2014PINV-BOM-0126-000001<\/strong> and PINV-BOM-0126-000002<\/strong>\u2014using the tax code \u201cISCGS\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As shown in the screenshot below, the same purchase invoices have been selected in the ISD Management<\/strong> screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    One more important point to note is that the total percentage of site-wise distribution must be 100%. <\/strong>Only when the total distribution equals 100% will the system allow the ISD entry to be created. If the total percentage is less than or more than 100%, the system will display an error message and prevent the entry from being saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To enter the site-wise distribution percentage, the user needs to click on the three-dot (ellipsis) option<\/strong> for the respective invoice and then select Site-wise ISD Distribution<\/strong>, as shown in the screenshot below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After this, a Site-wise ISD Distribution<\/strong> pop-up window will be displayed, as shown in the screenshot below. In this window, the default distribution percentage for each site is automatically populated.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We have added additional fields in the Site Master<\/strong> to maintain ISD-specific percentages and account numbers.<\/strong> If the percentage is already saved in the Site Master, it will automatically flow into this window. If no percentage is maintained for a site, the percentage field will remain blank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Users can also manually edit the percentages<\/strong> in this window to ensure that the total distribution equals 100%.<\/strong> After making the necessary changes, click the OK<\/strong> button to save the data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Save the site-wise percentages<\/strong> for both invoices and then click the \u201cCreate\u201d<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After creating the site-wise distribution, click on the \u201cSite-wise ISD Allocation\u201d<\/strong> button located at the top-right corner of the screen. This will populate the Site-wise ISD Allocation<\/strong> section, displaying the site-wise accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The system automatically calculates the tax values<\/strong> based on the distribution. After reviewing the data, click the \u201cPost\u201d<\/strong> button. Once posted, Journal Voucher (JV) numbers<\/strong> will be generated for each invoice, as shown in the screenshot below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You can refer to the image below to understand how the site-wise tax values<\/strong> are calculated for Journal Voucher (JV) creation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The ISD Management module in Sage X3<\/strong> streamlines site-wise distribution, automates tax calculations, and ensures accurate GST compliance. By integrating this process directly into the ERP, organizations can save time, reduce errors, and maintain an audit-ready system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
