You might have come across a scenario when you are required to move your X3 Configurations or data i.e. COA, Legislation, Account Structures etc from one X3 folder to another. This might arise out of a need to create a development\/backup folder that needs to have the same structure as your live\/production folder.<\/p>\n

You can do this in Sage X3 using an effective and easy to use a method called \u2018Setup Template\u2019.<\/p>\n

The setup template can be found at:\u00a0Development<\/strong> ->\u00a0Utilities<\/strong> ->\u00a0Patches<\/strong> ->\u00a0Setup<\/strong> Template<\/strong><\/p>\n

We will first create a setup template in the source folder. As shown in the figure, each setup template can contain several data templates. Now, a data template determines the data that is to be extracted or copied. One or more such data templates make a Setup Template.

\nFollowing is the description and function of the fields on the Setup template screen:<\/p>\n

Template Details<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  1. Template<\/strong> Code<\/strong>: The code that identifies the setup template.<\/li>\n
  2. Module<\/strong>: Module belonging to the parameterization<\/li>\n
  3. Activity<\/strong> Code<\/strong>: To mark this process.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Data Models Grid<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Template<\/strong> code<\/strong>: Select a data model.<\/li>\n
    2. Selection<\/strong>: Select a selection formula. This formula is applied on the main table defined in the data model.<\/li>\n
    3. Transaction<\/strong>: This refers to the transaction that is to be run after the model has been integrated.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      We also have an option to copy this setup template directly to another folder using the \u2018Copy\u2019 button. \u00a0However, you should have appropriate privileges on the target folder to copy this template to it.<\/p>\n
