When it is necessary to substitute components or material on a Work Order BOM, Sage X3 allows the replacement of components on a Work Order if the Product\u2019s Routing allows it.<\/p>\n

Following are the two methods for replacing a component with a substitution product<\/p>\n

Method 1<\/u>:<\/strong> Remove the original component<\/p>\n

Method 2<\/u>:<\/strong> Replace a component.<\/p>\n

Prerequisite<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1. The WO should be in Creation<\/strong>\/Save<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. The Work Order must be NOT ALLOCATED. If the Work Order is ALLOCATED, click on the Allocation <\/strong>button to DEALLOCATE the stock<\/p>\n

Method 2:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Product screen \u2013 Management tab<\/h3>\n

Add the alternate product in the product master<\/p>\n

Work order<\/h3>\n

Navigate<\/u><\/strong>: Manufacturing->Planning->Work Orders<\/p>\n

1. Click on the Components TAB<\/p>\n

2. Right Click on the Component, which you wish to Replace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. Click on Material Detail<\/strong><\/p>\n

4. Click on the Replace <\/strong>button<\/p>\n

\"Product<\/a><\/p>\n

5. The selected alternate product from product master will be auto-populated.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0Alternately, to choose another component, enter desired product.<\/p>\n

7. The Replacement Component now appears on the Work Order.<\/p>\n
