For Account promotion from Salesforce to the ERP, the \u201cCustomer No\u201d field in the ERP system must be set to AutoNumber. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Activating the Customer Number (Not Required) field is the prerequisite to promote the account from Salesforce to the ERP system to disable the \u201cCustomer No\u201d input field during promotion, in order to set the Customer No field as Not Required. Usually, this field is the required field to promote the customer to the ERP system but if the Customer Number field in the ERP system follows auto numbering then the user can disable this field in the Salesforce org during the Account promotion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This functionality enables the users to auto-assign the Customer Number to the Account once it gets promoted to Sage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Steps to set the Customer No field as Not Required<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Login to Salesforce.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Setup navigate to the Home tab. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search for \u201cCustom Settings\u201d in the Quick Find box located at the top in the left side panel to <em>set the Customer No field as Not Required<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Custom Settings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/1.-Click-on-Custom-Settings.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px; align: center;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/1.-Click-on-Custom-Settings.png\" alt=\"Custom Settings\"><\/a><\/center>\n<font size=\"2\"><center><i> Custom Settings <\/i><\/center><\/font>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Now, click on the &#8220;Manage&#8221; action to manage the ERP configuration and <strong><em>set the Customer No field as Not Required<\/em><\/strong>. Within this section, you can locate the checkbox to set the Customer No field as Not Required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/4.-Click-on-the-Customer-NoNot-Required-checkbox.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px; align: center;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/4.-Click-on-the-Customer-NoNot-Required-checkbox.png\" alt=\"set the Customer No field as Not Required\"><\/a><\/center>\n<font size=\"2\"><center><i> Customer No (Not Required) checkbox <\/i><\/center><\/font>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Customer No (Not Required) field permits Salesforce users to activate or deactivate the Customer No field when promoting an Account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the Customer No (Not Required) checkbox is selected, the Customer No field becomes inactive, preventing users from entering a customer number while promoting the account from Salesforce to ERP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To initiate the promotion process, choose an account from the Accounts Tab or create a new account in your Salesforce org<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the \u201cPromote Customer\u201d button to promote the account. A popup will open displaying all the required fields along with the Customer No field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>In case your Salesforce org is configured with multiple ERP systems, upon clicking the &#8220;Promote Customer&#8221; button, you must choose the specific ERP system to which you intend to promote the account. After selecting, click the &#8220;Next&#8221; button, and the popup window, as shown in the image below, will be displayed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/5.-Customer-No-Field-gets-disabled-during-account-promotion.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #A9A9A9; padding: 2px; margin: 2px; align: center;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greytrix.com\/blogs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/5.-Customer-No-Field-gets-disabled-during-account-promotion.png\" alt=\"Disabled field on Promote Customer layout\"><\/a><\/center>\n<font size=\"2\"><center><i> Disabled field on Promote Customer layout <\/i><\/center><\/font>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fill in all the required details in the input fields and press the &#8220;Promote&#8221; button to initiate the account promotion to the ERP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upon clicking the &#8220;Promote&#8221; button, the account is promoted to the ERP, and an automatic numbering system in the ERP assigns the &#8220;Customer No&#8221; to the promoted account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The allocated Customer No can be observed in your Salesforce org within the &#8220;Customer No.&#8221; field situated in the Details Tab of the promoted account.
