We know that it is possible to recover deleted records from the recycle bin for a period of 15 days. But if the user has emptied the recycle bin or they want data that was deleted more than 15 days ago, there is only one option and that is to contact salesforce support for data recovery. However the data recovery from salesforce is not free and they charge a flat rate of $ US 10,000. Not only is this process costly, it also takes upto 20 working days for Salesforce to recover the deleted data. Data can be recovered upto 3 months back from the current date.<\/p>\n

To avoid the above scenario, it is always recommended to backup data of your salesforce org. One of the ways of doing this is by using Salesforce’s data export service. Using the data export service, it is possible to schedule a weekly or monthly export. It is also possible to request a data export on demand. To do that, follow the below steps –<\/p>\n

  1. Click on Setup >> Administration Setup >> Data Management >> Data Export.<\/li>\n
  2. Click on Export Now. This will open the screen shown below.<\/li>\n
  3. Here the user can select specific data to be exported or keep the \u201cInclude all data\u201d checked to export all data.<\/li>\n
  4. Click the Start Export button.<\/li>\n
  5. It will display the message, \u201cYour export has been queued. You will receive an email notification when it is completed.\u201d<\/li>\n
  6. The email will contain a web address from where the user can download the compressed data files.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
