In this article, we have covered a detailed timeline of the Sage BusinessVision retirement: what has already happened, what changes in the coming months, and where your business stands on January 1, 2027. Alongside the calendar, you will find what a migration carries over from your existing system and a realistic view of what the remaining weeks can deliver. Some have already passed. What has already happened<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In January 2026, Sage released a payroll update for Sage BusinessVision 2023 at the start of the year. In July 2026, Sage released the last payroll update for Sage BusinessVision. From that day forward, every payroll calculation your system performs uses 2026 income tax, CPP, and EI rates. Those tables are now frozen, so any rate change the CRA announces for 2027 will never reach Sage BusinessVision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you hold an active support or payroll plan, Sage has already distributed your billing to align with the December 31, 2026 EOL date. It is worth noting that this retirement is administratively complete on Sage\u2019s side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For businesses that assumed there was still room to move the date, the adjusted billing is the clearest answer available. There are no extensions planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will happen next in Sage Business Vision EOL?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’ve distributed the milestones across the remaining months. These three milestone dates signify the changes the EOL will bring to your BusinessVision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The distinction matters because these events often collapse into a single “December 31” worry. In practice, support experience changes within weeks, not at year-end. The table below summarizes the sequence, and this section explains each milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. October 1, 2026 \u2014 Support narrows to chat only<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From October 1, 2026, Sage provides Sage BusinessVision technical support through chat only until December 31, 2026. From that date, you will no longer be able to submit support cases through the Customer Portal or the Partner Portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chat works for routine questions, but for anything complex, the change matters more than it appears. A submitted case creates a written record, carries attachments, survives a dropped connection, and can be escalated or reassigned. A chat session does none of those things reliably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unresolved issues like reporting faults, posting errors, and misbehaving integrations must be raised as a formal case before the end of September. After that, everything goes to the chat queue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. November\u2013December 2026 \u2014 The final year-end update<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sage will release a year-end update in November or December 2026 covering T4 and T5018 reporting. This is the last update Sage BusinessVision receives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This update lets you close your 2026 tax year and file correctly, as it will not carry forward to next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
