If you’ve spent any time customizing Freedom UI mini pages or modal pop-ups in Creatio, you’ve likely hit a frustrating wall. You build a clean mini page, open the page settings panel, and notice there is no native control to adjust the dimensions.
By default, Creatio locks modal pop-ups into a standard width. If you add extra fields or side-by-side elements, things get cramped fast. The good news? The feature to adjust modal dimensions exists natively in the platform. It is just tucked behind a feature flag. Here is how to unlock it in two minutes.
The Problem: Fixed Modal Sizes
When you navigate to any modal or mini page designer in Freedom UI, the Page Settings panel gives you basic options like Page Title, Code, and Package.
Step 1: Enable the Feature Flag
To reveal the hidden size controls, we need to toggle a system feature code. Look closely at the settings on the right panel. There’s no section for appearance or window sizing.
- Open a new tab in your browser and append /0/flags or /0/Shell/#Section/AppFeature_ListPage to your Creatio base URL.
- In the search bar on the Feature Management page, search for the code: EnabledAppearanceSettings.
- If it doesn’t show up in the list (which is usually the case on default instances), click the New button at the top right.
- Set the Code to EnabledAppearanceSettings.
- Check the Is enabled checkbox.
- Click Save in the top right.
Step 2: Apply the Changes
Once you’ve saved the feature flag, perform a quick refresh or log out and log back into your Creatio instance to clear the system cache.
Step 3: Resize Your Modal Page
Now, head back to your Freedom UI page designer and open the mini page or modal page you want to adjust.
- Click the gear icon in the top right toolbar to open Page Settings.
- Scroll down to the newly unlocked APPEARANCE section.
- You will now see the Modal window size toggle with four distinct presets: S, M, L, and XL.
- Pick the size that fits your design best and hit Save.
That’s all it takes. Toggling EnabledAppearanceSettings gives you direct control over pop-up layouts across your entire Freedom UI environment without writing custom CSS or relying on backend workarounds.
