GUMU™ for Sage CRM – Sage 100 application is a powerful, real-time bi-directional link that connects your CRM and ERP systems. With this integration, businesses can effortlessly synchronize customer and vendor data between Sage 100 and Sage CRM — ensuring both systems always stay up to date.
One of our customers recently requested the ability to distribute commissions across multiple sales representatives involved in a single order. Since the standard Sage CRM Sales Quote/Order screen supports only one salesperson, it created challenges in accurately tracking and allocating commissions.
To address this requirement, we implemented a custom enhancement that introduced several key features:
- A Split Commission option (Yes/No) added to the Order Summary screen.
- Support for assigning up to four additional sales representatives, each with defined commission percentages.
- Automatic adjustment of the primary salesperson’s commission percentage based on the remaining balance.
- System-level checks to ensure the total commission always equals 100% and to prevent selecting the same salesperson more than once.
- Effortless synchronization of all commission details to Sage 100 during Sales Order promotion.
Overview of the Split Commission Feature
The Split Commission feature lets you distribute commission across multiple sales representatives—up to four additional reps—alongside the primary salesperson.
A new Split Commission (Yes/No) field appears on the Order Summary screen. When enabled, Sage CRM displays additional fields where users can assign salespeople and enter their commission percentages.

How the Split Commission Fields Work
When Split Commission is set to Yes, users can:
- Add up to four additional sales reps
- Enter each rep’s commission percentage
- Let the system auto-calculate the primary salesperson’s remaining percentage using:
Primary Commission = 100 – (Sum of all additional reps’ percentages)
Example:
John Wick – 35%
Ross – 10%
Devos – 5%
Primary Salesperson – Automatically gets the remaining 50%

Validations and Business Rules
To keep data accurate, the system enforces:
- Total commission must equal 100% – Any mismatch triggers a warning.
- No duplicate salespeople – Selecting the same rep twice is blocked.
Once the user enters all required information—including commission details, header information, and line items—they can click the Promote button. If all validations pass, the order is promoted from Sage CRM to Sage 100. During this process, GUMU transfers all relevant data, including the Primary Salesperson, Additional Salespersons, their commission percentages, order headers, and line items, ensuring that Sage 100 has complete and accurate information for processing and reporting.
