Sage X3 Quote and Order Inquiry Screens Based on CRM Opportunities – A New Customization in Sage CRM–Sage X3 GUMU™ Integration

GUMU™ for Sage CRM – Sage X3 provides a real-time, bi-directional integration that synchronizes customer data between Sage X3 and Sage CRM. With this integration, CRM users gain direct access to critical ERP information such as sales orders and invoices, all within the Sage CRM interface.

Through continuous enhancements to the GUMU™, we help organizations maximize the value of their ERP–CRM ecosystem. By improving visibility into ERP sales data, our custom solutions support better decision-making, increased efficiency, and streamlined daily operations.

In this blog, we highlight a recent customization requested by one of our clients. The requirement was to display Sage X3 Quotes and Orders linked to Sage CRM Opportunities directly within the Company context in Sage CRM. The goal was to allow users to associate CRM Opportunities while creating Sage X3 transactions and provide an inquiry view in CRM to track opportunity-related ERP records.

The customer needed:

  • The ability to link Sage CRM Opportunities while creating Sage X3 Quotes and Orders
  • Visibility of opportunity-linked Sage X3 transactions within Sage CRM
  • A centralized inquiry view at the Company level

To fulfill this requirement, a coordinated customization was implemented across both Sage X3 and Sage CRM environments.

On the Sage X3 side, a CRM Opportunity lookup field was added to the Quote and Order entry screens. This allows users to associate a specific Sage CRM Opportunity with each transaction at the time of creation, ensuring a direct relationship between ERP documents and CRM Opportunities.

On the Sage CRM side, two custom GUMU™ tabs were added at the Company context level:

  • X3 Quotes Tied to Opportunity
  • X3 Orders Tied to Opportunity

These tabs display inquiry lists of Sage X3 Quotes and Orders associated with CRM Opportunities, providing users with clear and organized visibility into opportunity-driven ERP transactions directly within Sage CRM.
