Setup GL account structure is important activity for every organization to maintain transactions in general ledger. The chart of account always maintain the GL account in unique by using GL account structure and these GL account will be related to each type of asset, liability, income and expenses.
In Sage 500, user can setup multiple segment in the GL account structure and each segment can be up to 15 character in length. The combination of multiple Segment will create a GL account that combine GL account length can be up to 100 character.
New Stuff: Negative SO Lines functionality in Sage 500
Here’s the below screens by using user can setup the GL account Structure.
Go to General ledger module >> Maintenance >> GL Setup >> Setup Account Structure
On the right click on the grid, you have option to insert or append line inside the Grid.
In Sage 500, using the above screen of GL account structure user can define own mechanism of GL account based on accounting system. User will be able to insert a new segment at the beginning or between existing account segments. By selecting “Insert Line” from the right click menu, a blank line will be inserted on the selected segment in the grid. The “Add Line” option is using for append a new line at the end of the grid.
