In our previous blog, Understanding Logs in GUMU Cloud Integrations, we discussed the different types of logs available in GUMU™ and how they help users understand integration activities. However, having logs available is only one part of maintaining a reliable integration. Regular monitoring is equally important.
Integrations often run automatically in the background, synchronizing important business data such as orders, customers, inventory, invoices, and payments between different applications. When everything works correctly, the process continues without manual intervention. But issues can sometimes occur due to missing data, validation failures, API connection issues, or temporary system downtime.
This is where integration monitoring becomes important.
GUMU™ has Info Logs and Error Logs to give better visibility into the integration process. Info Logs – Used to monitor and record integration activities and successful processing. Error Logs – Used to provide information about a transaction or process that has an issue.
The logs help users and support teams understand what happened and help them track down the source of a problem.
Besides viewing logs in GUMU™, integration logs can be emailed out using email notifications. This helps the respective teams to be updated on integration activities & errors without the need to keep checking the GUMU™ portal constantly.
For example, if an order fails to sync because the customer or item doesn’t exist in the ERP, the error log can help quickly pinpoint the problem. This allows the team to take the necessary steps and ensure the transaction is successfully processed.
Regular monitoring allows businesses to:
- Catch integration problems early
- Minimize delays in processing critical transactions
- Increased visibility into automated processes
- More quickly fix errors
- Reduce impact on business operations
Integration monitoring is not merely about tracking errors. It provides visibility and controls of automated business processes.
With proper logging and email notifications through GUMU™, businesses can stay on top of their integrations and take action, when need be, helping to ensure that critical data continues to flow between systems.
Note: GUMU™ does not store Source and Target systems information in the GUMU™ database; it only stores the record ID information to display in the logs section.
